How diets can affect the brain

A lot of misguided people think that starving yourself is the only way to lose weight, They would be wrong. Trion:Z has been made aware of new research which shows how diets can affect the brain.

According to research published in the Cell Metabolism, “When we don’t eat, hunger-inducing neurons in the brain start eating bits of themselves. That act of self-cannibalism turns up a hunger signal to prompt eating.”

The scientists who conducted the research studied the brains of hungry mice and discovered that when the mice did not eat and were hungry, this mobilised lipids within certain brain neurons, which generated fatty acids.

These fatty acids then boosted levels of AgRP, the hormone that signifies hunger.

Talking about how these mobile lipids boost hunger hormones, a cellular process known as ‘autophagy’, could be an effective way of help cure obesity, the researchers who published the study said:

“Regulation of hypothalamic autography could become an effective intervention in conditions such as obesity and the metabolic syndrome. The new findings in mice suggest that treatments aimed at blocking autophagy may prove useful as hunger-fighting weapons in the war against obesity.”

Asides our brain, when it is starved of food, producing mobilised lipids which generate fatty acids, diet and exercise has long been associated with protecting the brain and help warding off mental illness.

Best detox diet as used by Princess Beatrice

Princess Beatrice and the fruit and water diet, the best detox diet?

A celebrity losing a considerable amount of weight never fails to spark media interest, and this certainly is the case with Princess Beatrice.

The Princess has always been of an ‘ample’ size, and was as famous for her curves as she was for her thick mane of red locks.

So when she stepped out at a polo event in West Sussex recently in a stunning blue cocktail dress, with a super slim, size 8 physique, questions immediately surfaced about what diet the Princess has been following.

It has been reported that Princess Beatrice has been following a strict diet based on fruit, vegetables and water. The 22-year-old has also been intensely working out and running.

Last September Beatrice completed the Windsor half marathon in a more than acceptable two hours 16 minutes. She then went on to complete this year’s London Marathon with her boyfriend David Clark, who has been supporting Beatrice in her bid to lose weight.

Those using the fruit and water diet can expect to lose weight fairly quickly.

It is a short-term diet, as the body requires a more balanced diet than fruit and water alone. Most people who use the fruit and water diet stick to it for three days every month, whilst there are some who eat a modified fruit diet for several weeks or even for a month two or three times a year.

The antioxidants found in fruit and water helps to cleanse the body and alleviate it of toxins. This type of diet is therefore a great detoxifier.

If you find that despite arduous dieting, the pounds stubbornly refuse to go down on the scales, you may need some extra diet ‘boosts’ to accelerate the process of achieving the body you pine for.

1- Eat dinner in a blue room (!!!)

It may sound ridiculous, but research has revealed that the colour blue is a natural appetite suppressant. 2- Eat dessert
