Five gym fashion tips

It’s sad but true that the gym is sometimes more of a fashion parade and singles hangout than a place to train and keep fit.

Whatever your reasons are for going to the gym, you may want to ‘look the part’. If so, then read our five gym fashion tips….

Wear a head band

Whilst head bands were once thought of as an accessory for posers, a head band can not only be a useful way to keep unruly hair under control during a strenuous training session, but also look pretty cool too!

Bring a bag – the snazzier the better!

Forget taking a plastic bag with ‘Tesco’ or ‘Sainsbury’, or worse still ‘Lidl’ emblazoned on the front to carry or gym gear in. Instead sport a snazzy and colourful bag with your equally as snazzy gear in.

No Sweat

Those seen pounding the miles on the treadmill without breaking out in a sweat, look considerably ‘cooler’ than those who look like they’ve just come out of a shower no sooner as they step foot on the treadmill.

Sporting advantage of sports bras

The unique advantages of the sports bra, a ladies most important sporting accessory.

Forget your fancy heart rate monitors, miniscule deep sea diving cameras and virtual Wii-fi hula-hoop, as it’s the good old sports bra that is the real hero when it comes to sporting accessories.

The sports bra enables women, of all sizes, to enjoy, train and compete alongside men in all types of sports.

Sports bras cover more of the chest than a conventional bra and include several supportive elastics, which help support the breast tissue and prevent pain. Giving greater support, these types of bras generally allow women to feel more comfortable whilst they are working out or participating in a sport, which can ultimately help improve a woman’s performance.

Unlike most traditional bras, a decent, well fitting sports bra can also give some support to the upper back and help improve a woman’s posture as she works out.

Traditionally sports bras have not been associated with femininity or been regarded as ‘sexy’. These vital sporting accessories have, however, come a long way since the days they looked like a piece of cardboard covering a woman’s chest.
