Three of the best rugby boots money can buy

Every rugby player knows that the conditions underfoot are vital to their performance on the pitch and therefore affecting the overall outcome of the game.

If you are on the market for a new pair of rugby boots but are unsure which ones to buy, then take a look at our three best rugby boots currently on the market that could make the difference between either winning or losing a game.

Adidas AdiZero RS7 Pro

These ultra-light rugby boots have been designed with speed and acceleration in mind, traits which inevitably give a player the ‘edge’ over opponents. The design ensures they are in our best rugby boots list.

TPU support bands provide players with additional support and stability, enabling them to shirk off markers with greater ease and dexterity, while five moulded studs and six screw-in studs mean that players wearing the Adidas AdiZero RS7 Pros, can accelerate, twist and turn at a greater pace.

These expertly engineered boots cost £145 and are available to buy at shop.adidas.co.uk.

Puma King Finale SG

Costing a slightly less expensive £115, the Puma King Finale SG’s offer a more robust and conventional approach to rugby boots. With six screw-in studs these boots are best worn on a soft turfed rugby pitch.

Sporting the classic black and white stripe, these boots look like they mean business on the rugby field, yet being made from ultra-soft kangaroo leather upper, comfort is an added bonus of the King Puma Finale SGs. Check them out here.

An interview with professional rugby union player Dan Hipkiss

Dan Hipkiss is a professional rugby union player who currently plays for Leicester Tigers.

Trion Z had the privilege of talking to the England World Cup star about training schedules, diet, inspirations and aspirations.

At what age did you first become interested in Rugby Union?

My Dad took me to play Rugby at Diss Rugby club in Norfolk when I was 5.

You have represented England at U16, U17, U18, U21 and England A. What was it like representing England at such a young age?

It was very exciting playing for the Under 16’s, everything was new and playing at Twickenham when I was that young was amazing. I still remember the feeling I had walking out of the tunnel to this day.

What has been the greatest highlight of your career so far?

Playing is the world cup with England was great but I would say scoring a try to beat Saracens in the 2010 Premiership final was the best feeling I have had in Rugby. It was a great game and to score the winning try will be something I will always remember.

Who has been your biggest inspiration in your career?

Pat Howard and Daryl Gibson taught me a lot early on and gave up a lot of time helping me get better. I wouldn’t have made it as a professional without their help.

In 1999, you overcame a career-threatening injury on your knee. How did you overcome such a serious injury?

I was lucky to have a good surgeon in Mike Harding. The operation he performed was very rare and often not undertaken. There was a lot of hard work after the injury, strengthening my quads particularly.

What does your typical daily diet consist of?

I took a food intolerance test recently with Myprotein’s nutritionist Laurent Bannock and subsequently removed gluten, casein and wheat from my diet. I have felt a lot better since changing. I like to eat eggs for breakfast and add liquid egg whites to omelettes and scrambled eggs. I often have smoked salmon for breakfast too.

Fantastic reviews from two promising Scottish rugby stars

We recently invited two incredibly promising rugby stars who play for Edinburgh the chance to see how, by wearing a Trion:Z, they felt after a month of wearing.

Originally from The Netherlands, Tim Visser is a 6.4ft powerhouse of a winger, not to mention a try scoring machine! He remains the only non-Scottish signing since he was picked up in May 2009. He’s been a leading try scorer in the prestigious Magners League and has already scooped the tournament’s Young Player of the Season prize.

He has also declared a wish to represent Scotland as and when he qualifies through residency… expect to see a lot more of this guy.

This is what he had to say about his Trion:Z:

Using the trionz bracelets has made a big difference to me. After training recovery times are quicker whilst I feel stronger in the gym. I recommend it to any sportsperson professional or amateur!

Our second rugby star is Roddy Grant, a seasoned professional member Edinburgh’s ‘the back row’. Now, this guy was an instant hit (quite literally) with the sport when he started playing and was rewarded for this consistency when former head coach Rob Moffat named him captain, around the same time he was nominated for Magners League Young Player of the Season in recognition of his form in the previous campaign.

In a sport where inches and fine detail is everything and the difference in success and failure is so small, I want every bit of help and technology to keep me ahead and pushing the boundaries of my body and performance. With the help of my TrionZ wrist band, I feel it gives me the exact edge I’m after. I feel less fatigued and more powerful at training but most importantly, I feel more confident and healthy with it on.”

Find out more about the guys or go see them in action – click here for the Edinburgh Rugby Club website.

If you’re looking to the Scottish rugby stars of tomorrow… look no further, these guys will be gracing your TV screens at a 6 Nations very soon we feel!

If you want to give your performance a boost, take a look at Trion:Z’s range of magnetic therapy bracelets.
