The true cost of the Avengers battle of Manhattan? $160 billion!

Avengers Assemble has broken all previous box office records by taking over $200 million at the US box office on its opening weekend, but that figure is dwarfed by the true cost of the Avengers battle of Manhattan, were the Avengers to be real life superheroes!

Yes, that’s right! If the battle in Manhattan against Loki and his alien pals was real, experts have estimated the real financial costs involved.

That Hulk is a clumsy oaf! Check out the estimated costs from damage experts Kinetic Analysis Corp, totalling over $160 billion (£99 billion).

Physical damage to Manhattan $60-70 billion (£37-43 billion).

Clean-up costs $90 billion (£55 billion)

This fictional estimate of the Avengers battle doesn’t include loss of lives, so the figure would go right beyond $160 billion….ouch.

With such a huge pay-out, you can imagine insurers would be checking their small print. With the battle being against Loki (a Nordic Deity), they would probably use their ‘act of God’ trump card!

Hulk & Hawkeye spotted wearing the Iron Man Bracelet!

With the Marvel Avengers Assemble movie being released theatrically in the UK on April 26^th 2012 (That’s tomorrow!!!), we wanted to bring you another clip related to the film.

This one features The Hulk and Hawkeye actors Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner on Daybreak. If you look closely, they are wearing what is becoming known as the Iron Man bracelet, the MagTitan Neo Legend.

The Iron Man bracelet is actually worn in the film by Tony Stark who uses it as part of his transformation into Iron Man.

Colantotte’s new ‘Ironman bracelet’ stars in Avengers Assemble

Magnetic therapy for Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a medical disorder that is categorised by widespread chronic pain and other conditions, such as sleep disturbance, fatigue, difficulty swallowing, bladder and bowel abnormalities, joint stiffness, as well anxiety and depression.

What causes fibromyalgia?

Several theories of the causes of fibromyalgia have been reported although the exact cause is unknown. One theory is that the condition is caused by “central sensitization”, whereby patients of fibromyalgia have a lower threshold of pain than most because of increased sensitivity in the brain to pain signals. Other research has suggested that fibromyalgia may be caused by genetic predispositions, while another theory is that the disorder can be caused by acute stress. Although none of these theories are by any means conclusive.

What are the treatments for fibromyalgia?

As with most unexplained medical disorders, and due to the fact that fibromyalgia can consist of many different symptoms, there is no widespread accepted treatment or ‘cure’ for the disease, and treatment typically entails symptom management, medication, exercise and complementary medicine.
