Anna Lovelock is a personal trainer and well-known Pilates instructor whose seemingly lifelong passion for sports and fitness has resulted in her inspiring many into becoming fitter and improving their sporting performance.
Alongside working with tennis professionals, the England rugby team and Olympic medallists, Anna’s latest venture is being the master trainer for ThinQFitness, an online fitness provider and the launch of the highly innovate ThinQ Fitness app, which means you can literally workout wherever and whenever you want to.
Trion Z had the pleasure of interviewing Anna to talk daily diets, keeping fit and the highly anticipated ThinQ Fitness app!
I loved, and participated in sport as a child, though I didn’t at the time equate it to “health and fitness”, just fun. I started going to Pineapple Dance at 18. Jane Fonda had just released her Aerobic Workout. I loved the class concept and wanted to get involved.
I have been a Fitness Instructor for 31 years and Personal Trainer for about 15 of those.
From working with members of the England Rugby squad to Olympic medallists, what has been the highlight of your career to date?
I can’t name a particular highlight, however, what has been a revelation to me is how much, after all these years I can still love and be inspired by my job. Ideas in health and fitness are constantly changing, and as an Instructor you need to learn and adapt.
What does a typical day’s diet consist of for you?
Granola & yoghurt
2 slices of brown toast and marmite
black coffee
Lunch
Brown bread sandwich (no mayo, hate it!!)
fruit
Supper
Fish/chicken, red meat once a week
vegetable or salad
pasta/rice/potato
How do you keep fit yourself?
I have participated in Triathlon for 10 years so I swim, bike and run.
You are renowned Pilates instructor, in what ways can Pilates improve one’s mental well-being as well as their physical well-being?
Pilates gives the individual the ability to focus, concentrate fully on the exercise and to be in tune mentally with your body. To be “in the moment”. This is a skill that has to be learnt but is beneficial in our daily lives.
Being the director of ThinQ Fitness, how will the brand new ThinQ Fitness app, which enables people to participate in fitness classes wherever and whenever they want, benefit people on their road to losing weight and getting fit?
One of the main reasons people find it hard to stick to a fitness plan is that they say, they have no time, life gets in the way. Once their exercise routine is broken, it’s very difficult to get back on track. Wherever you go, wherever you are, we now have an app to bring the exercise plan to you. It’s like taking your personal trainer with you. There are no days/hours when we’re not open!
